Gini Fletcher
Welcome,
Thrilled to have you here. I am a new Nurse Freelance Writer. My background is in Oncology and Urgent Care Nursing. I recently retired from Urgent Care. Even though I am no longer working in direct patient care I continue to maintain my credentials. Writing is something I have always loved to do but, now I am able to use it as a new career adventure. During my nursing career I wrote Policy and Procedure, Training Manuals, Employee and Patient Education.
On a more personal level, I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My husband and I have lived in South Lake Tahoe, a small California mountain community for 40 years. It was amazing raising our two sons there. Both are in Firefighting. One is a city firefighter and the other a wildland firefighter. Since retiring my husband and I have left the cold snowy winters behind. We leave each November with our two German Shepherds and travel the United States living in our fifth-wheel trailer and return in May. So many adventures. We hope to do this for years to come.
I keep busy on the road by working on writing a book, writing short stories, painting, silk screening, photography, creating jewelry and learning new skills. Currently, I am learning to speak Spanish. We also like activities such as, biking, hiking, golfing and scuba diving. To keep fit I walk 4 miles a day and lift weights six days a week. To keep sane traveling with my spouse I meditate. Even when you have been togehter as long as we have, being together 24/7 is trying at times. Things you once found endearing are now just annoying. Its the same for both of us. Pretty funny.
